Introduction
Situated in the south-western part of the State Consists of 7 taluks –Chickmagalur, Kadur,Koppa, Mudigere, N.R Pura, Sringeri and Tarikere.
It is famous for its Coffee cultivation and is known as the coffee land of Karnataka Contains Mullayanagiri, which is the highest peak in Karnataka.
Kundremukh: 95 km southwest of Chikmagalur town is Kudremukh range, so named because of
the unique shape of the Kudremukh peak. Situated at 1,894.3 meters above sea level, Kudremukh is rich in iron ore deposits. The Kudremukh Iron Ore Company conducts mining operations, benefaction and transportation of the ore as slurry through pipelines to the port at Panambur near Mangalore.

Chikmagalur (Kannada: , Cikka Maga?uru) (also known as Chikkamagaluru) is a town located in Chikkamagaluru district in the Indian state of Karnataka. Located in the foothills of Mullayanagiri range, Chikmagalur is famous for coffee and is known as the 'coffee land' of Karnataka. It has an international school called Ambar Valley and a star resort called The Serai. Chikmagalur is famous for its hill stations.
The nearest airport to this town is Bajpe international airport of Mangalore (160 km). The more awaited Chikmagalur Railway line has been completed and a trial run was held on June 17.This railway line will be connecting the city to Kadur The station is expected to inaugurate this year.
